SPHEREA, a prime contractor for major industrial projects and supplier of “turnkey” solutions, has successfully completed the challenge of integrating all the infrastructure and resources needed to build the Open-Air Test Bench for Safran Aircraft Engines.

As an important player in the implementation of this project, SPHEREA was present at the inauguration of the Test Bench, which took place on 3 October 2017.
The aim of this unique Test Bench in Europe is to test the future-generation engines such as Open Rotor and Leap-2 (Safran).
This event took place in the presence of Mr Peticolin (Chief Executive Officer of Safran), many important stakeholders from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, and also representatives of the Clean Sky* programme in which SPHEREA is also involved through this project.
The test bench will be modified by 2019 to test other generations of engines. SPHEREA is still in the competition and hopes to be selected again for managing this second part of the project.

Congratulations to the teams for their work and the success of this project!

*Clean Sky is a European private-public research programme launched by the European Commission and European players in the aviation industry. The Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative is developing a series of innovative technologies designed to significantly reduce the impact of air transport on the environment.
